BASMATİ PİRİNÇ; Hindistan, Pakistan ve Nepal’de yaygın olarak tüketilen basmati pirinci, Himalayalar’ın mineralli sularıyla beslenen topraklarında yetişiyor. Diğer pirinç ürünleri ile karşılaştırıldığında daha ince ve uzun bir görünüme sahip. Basmati pirinç diğer pirinçlerden daha uzun ve büyüktür. Basmati pirincin rengi oldukça mattır. Kendine has güzel bir kokuya ve aromaya sahiptir. Ilıman bölgelerde yetişir. Basmati pirinci diğer pirinçlere oranla daha besleyici ve sağlıklıdır. Basmati pirincin içinde nişasta ve en önemlisi gluten yoktur.
